The 23-year-old rejected a new deal at Gresty Road earlier this year and with only one season left on Hulse's contract at the club, manager Dario Gradi decided to put him up for sale, and not risk losing him for free next summer.
Several clubs have been linked with the player, including Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff.
The Bluebirds agreed a fee with Crewe for the player but Hulse rejected the chance to move to Wales.
West Brom made Alex an offer for their star striker, but that was rejected by Gradi and now Millwall are the latest club to show an interest.
It is thought that Hulse, who netted 27 times for Alex last term, is keen on a move to The Premiership but rumours that Everton were interested in taking him to Goodison Park have been denied by the club.
The Lions are now set to open talks with the player over personal terms.
