Leeds boss unsure of long-term deal for on-loan striker Keogh

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has confirmed he will try to strengthen his squad in January and is unsure whether on-loan striker Andy Keogh will be staying at Elland Road. Keogh is with Leeds from Wolves and has expressed a wish to join the Championship club on a permanent basis in the New Year. Grayson is waiting to discuss the situation with Wolves and whether there will be competition for the Republic of Ireland international, who started his career with the Whites. "It is an option for us that will be dictated by what Wolves want to do and what we can do at this end," Grayson said in the Yorkshire Post.

Exceptional

"Andy has been very good since he got here with his work-rate and enthusiasm having been exceptional. "But there are many other circumstances that dictate whether someone can come, such as it being Wolves' decision as to whether they want to sell permanently and whether we and other clubs can afford him." With Leeds pushing for a return to the Premier League, Grayson stated his intention to try and improve his options when the transfer window reopens. He added: "We are looking at targets and certain positions. I am not going to sit here and tell you what they are, but we will be looking to strengthen in January. "Since pre-season, we have been analysing players and who might be available. I have had a meeting with the chairman this week and we do have a few targets in mind. "Hopefully, we can go and get what we need to improve the team and the squad."
