The Barnsley-born stopper came through the ranks at Sheffield Wednesday and made 161 appearances for the Owls, but found his first-team chances restricted before the Lions showed interest.
The 23-year-old grasped the opportunity, with the initial loan deal being turned into a permanent move last month.
Millwall's play-off hopes may have faded somewhat in recent weeks, but their FA Cup dreams are still alive, with a home tie against Championship rivals Blackburn in the quarter-finals.
"The confidence around the camp has helped me find my best form again," Beevers told Sky Sports.
"Sitting on the bench every week can get you down a little.
"The regular games coupled with the performances from not just myself but all the lads here has brought the best out of me as well.
"Hopefully, I can prove my ability in the long-term now having joined permanently last month."
The London-based outfit's FA Cup commitments saw Beevers' return to Hillsborough delayed, with the two clubs set to meet over the weekend at the Den, and he is looking forward to facing his former employers.
"It will be an interesting one for me when Wednesday come down to the Den whenever the game is rearranged, as I've never faced a former club before, especially one which I have had such an affinity with," he said.
"I'm a Millwall player now though and the main thing for me will be to earn the three points for ourselves.
"I think that sometimes you just need the rub of the green and Wednesday don't seem to be getting that at the moment.
"I've heard that the performances aren't that bad, but the results just aren't going their way.
"I do hope that they turn it round because it would be a real shame to see them get relegated again after all the hard work everyone put in last year.
"It is far too early to be talking about relegation though and I have full confidence that they will start firing sooner or later."
