Crewe cut down Gills

Crewe thumped fellow strugglers Gillingham 4-1 at Gresty Road.Crewe climbed further away from trouble at the wrong end of the table with a thumping 4-1 win over fellow strugglers Gillingham.
Dean Ashton grabbed a brace and further goals from David Vaughan and Steve Jones ensured Darius Henderson's strike for Gillingham was only a mere consolation.
Gillingham came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first 30 minutes with Darren Byfield seeing his shot crash off the woodwork.
Crewe went in front on 35 minutes with Vaughan sweeping home Anthony Tonkin's cross.
The home side doubled their lead on 71 minutes with Ashton finishing off Kenny Lunt's clever free kick.
Gillingham pulled a goal back two minutes later with Henderson heading past Clayton Ince.
Ashton restored the two-goal cushion two minutes later with Ashton running clear onto Lunt's pass before slotting the ball home.
Crewe wrapped up the convincing win with a fourth goal in the final minute as Jones scored from close range.
