Crewe defender Chris McCready has been offered a new two-year deal at the club.
Crewe Alexandra defender Chris McCready has been offered a new two-year deal at Gresty Road.
McCready's career has so far been blighted by injuries after coming through Dario Gradi's renowned youth system at the club.
After a full campaign without any serious injuries, Gradi has decided to give the 24-year-old the chance to continue his renaissance at Crewe after proving his fitness to the club's staff.
"Chris has earned his new contract we will be offering him because he has proved his fitness," Gradi told the club's official website.
"He has worked very hard to overcome his injury problems and he has never been as fit for so long for a while.
"He has been available to us for most of the season and that has been considerable progress from him.
"Remaining injury free and playing in the games at the end of the season will give him that little bit more confidence.
"His next challenge is to try and establish himself as our first-choice centre back next season. He has the ability to do that and being physically right will only help him."
