Crewe manager Dario Gradi has revealed interest in Madjid Bougherra.
Crewe manager Dario Gradi has revealed that interest in defender Madjid Bougherra has been gathering momentum.
Gradi would be keen to retain Bougherra, who spent last season on loan at Crewe from Gueugnon.
But the manager admits stiff competition could see The Alex miss out.
"There has been a lot of interest in Madjid from other managers in The Championship and even from a club in Scotland," Gradi told the club's official website.
"I've fielded a lot of calls and it will be interesting to see what happens."
Gradi, meanwhile, has opened talks with Gareth Taylor following the player's release from Nottingham Forest.
The 33-year-old joined the club on loan from Forest in January and scored four goals in 15 appearances during an impressive run of form.
Gradi, who is reshaping his squad following relegation to League One, is believed to have offered Taylor a one-year contract to remain at Gresty Road.
