Crewe Alexandra striker Juan Ugarte has left the club by mutual consent.
Crewe Alexandra striker Juan Ugarte has left the League One club by mutual consent.
The former Real Sociedad hit-man leaves Gresty Road after a nightmare season following his move from Wrexham last summer.
The Spaniard made just one start for Dario Gradi's side last season, as The Railwaymen suffered relegation from The Championship come the season's end.
Loan spells at former club Wrexham failed to turn his season around, as problems with his knee persisted.
With Ugarte currently undergoing treatment on his knee in Spain, Crewe have decided to mutually terminate the final year of his contract with the club.
As Ugarte departs Gresty Road, goalkeeper Ben Williams has signed a two-year contract with the club this week.
The news is a remarkable turnaround for the former Manchester United custodian, who was unable to feature for The Alex in 2006 after being unfortunately struck down with serious bout of viral meningitis.
The 23-year-old has since recovered and will aim to claim the club's number one jersey for next season.
