Chris McCready is to join the exodus from Crewe Alexandra after rejecting a new contract.
Following last season's relegation from The Championship, several key players have already headed out of Gresty Road.
Steve Jones and Stephen Foster have both signed for Burnley, while captain Kenny Lunt has joined Sheffield Wednesday.
McCready has decided to follow the lead of his former team-mates and look for a new club after turning down a two-year contract extension.
"I've been here for a long time now and I thank everyone who has helped me and supported me during that period," McCready told the club's official website.
"I have enjoyed my time at the club, but I now feel that I am ready for a fresh challenge somewhere else."
The 24-year-old made 80 appearances for The Railwaymen, but his time with Dario Gradi's side was hampered by injury.
Meanwhile, teenage stopper Nathaniel Kerr has signed his first professional contract with Crewe after agreeing a 12-month deal.
