Dario Gradi does not expect Calvin Zola to leave Crewe in January as the striker has been injured for the past two months.
Last season's top-scorer has been struggling with hip and knee problems and had only been used sparingly as a substitute prior to his injuries. Several clubs were interested in signing Zola on loan earlier this season, with Shrewsbury offering the 25-year-old a permanent deal. However, the former Newcastle and Tranmere player opted to remain at Gresty Road. "Calvin has not been fit for a long time and it may be difficult for a club to take a chance on him," Gradi told the club's official website. "I don't expect him to go out in January because he has been injured for so long."
