Ellis over the moon after win

Mark Ellis admits Crewe were relieved to get back to winning ways at the weekend.

Former Torquay centre-back Ellis netted his first goal for the club 20 minutes from time to seal a 2-1 triumph over Hartlepool - the Railwaymen's first victory since September 1. He told Alex's official website: "It was a result we needed. We needed to get our confidence back after a couple of defeats and hopefully that is what we have done. "In this league you have to work hard for every result. Hartlepool came and gave us a really good test. We had to work very hard for the result and thankfully we got it. "On a personal note I am delighted to get my first goal. We have had quite a few chances from set plays, and come close on several occasions but they just haven't dropped in, so to get my first goal is brilliant. "Goals are a part of my game and I am a little disappointed that it has taken me this long to get off the mark. But it is about taking my chance when it comes and that is what I did against Hartlepool, hopefully more goals will come now."
