Alex boss rules out new faces

Crewe manager Steve Davis has told the club's fans not to expect any new faces as the close of the emergency loan window looms.

Davis suggested any business before Thursday is unlikely but he's ready to move in January if he feels it will improve his side. But he was quick to point out that the wait gives some of his current squad a chance to prove their worth. "We have to get what we can out of the players we have got, move them around and try to find the winning combination. I've got to stick with them," he told the club's official website. "Of course, they have until January to prove that they can do it on a consistent basis. They have shown that they can in glimpses and done well in some games and then had blanks in others. "They have a bit of breathing space to prove they can become more clinical and when I mean that I mean the front six."
