It was thought that The Gills were interested in the Mariners duo of midfielder Alan Pouton and striker Michael Boulding, with the Kent club on the verge of selling striker Paul Shaw to Sheffield United.
Despite the links, Furneaux has denied that any contact has been made by the Priestfield Stadium club for any of the Blundell Park squad.
"There's no point in talking about rumours," Furneaux told the club's official website.
"There's been no interest that I know of. He (Gillingham chairman Paul Scally) hasn't spoken to me about it.
"It's interesting that the players which the fans were saying were not good enough, are now, allegedly, commanding interest from First Division clubs.
"There has been no offers for any of our players, but we are always pleased when interest is shown by these clubs - perhaps these players are not as bad some people would have you believe."
