Brent Sancho wants to move to Gillingham after failing to impress at Kilmarnock.
Defender Brent Sancho could be set to sign for League One side Gillingham.
Sancho had initially delayed on a decision regarding The Gills, preferring to wait for a clear indication on his future from Kilmarnock.
However, Killie decided not to pursue their interest in the trialist, and now Sancho admits he is excited about a move south of the border.
"Kilmarnock explained their reasons for not keeping me and knowing that Gillingham had been interested, hopefully something can now be put on the table for me to accept," said Sancho.
"Gillingham are a good club and there remains the possibility that I can end up there."
Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies ended his interest in Sancho despite seeing the 28-year-old score in a closed-door game against Rangers on Tuesday.
Jefferies explained: "It was a great opportunity to see how the players would perform against a strong Rangers side and ultimately give me a reason to offer them a contract, but I felt that they didn't show enough.
"Brent in particular is more of a playmaker and not the aggressive ball-winner I am looking for."
