Gillingham's Andy Crofts was delighted with his winner against Portsmouth.Gillingham hero Andy Crofts has expressed his delight at scoring the goal that knocked Portsmouth out of the League Cup.
Crofts was on target in The Gills' 3-2 giant-killing of Pompey, grabbing the winner in extra time to secure a big win for the League One side.
"It still hasn't sunk in to be honest," Crofts told Sky Sports News.
"I couldn't sleep as it kept flashing through my mind but I'm over the moon and it was a great night for myself and for the lads.
"Cup games like that don't come along too often and to knock out a big team like Portsmouth made it a night I will remember for a long time.
"I kept asking the referee how long was left because I just wanted the whistle to blow so it would be the match-winning goal.
"To be fair, the performances we've been putting in have been really good, but we haven't been getting the right results.
"We knew an upset was on the cards as they've not been doing too well either.
"To be fair they didn't play too badly, but, credit to ourselves, we had a really good game and were happy to come away with a win."
