Scott Brown (Cheltenham)
Cheltenham maintained their grip on third place after Jeff Goulding's late strike clinched a 1-0 win over visitors Barnet. But Brown earned all the plaudits after he saved Mark Byrne's penalty to stop Barnet taking the lead.
Abu Ogogo (Dagenham and Redbridge)
The Daggers climbed up the table with their third win in four matches, with skipper Ogogo at the heart of a determined defensive display in the last-gasp 1-0 victory against visitors Fleetwood.
Ian Sharps (Rotherham)
Millers skipper Sharps became the unlikely matchwinner for his side as they earned a narrow 1-0 triumph at fellow play-off hopefuls Exeter. His glancing header just before half-time sealed the points, while he effectively marshalled the away defence to ensure Exeter could not find an equaliser.
Sam Hird (Chesterfield)
Chesterfield survived a period of attacking pressure from hosts Plymouth to cling on and return north with a 1-0 success. Captain Hird led from the front and his late header to deflect Andres Gurrieri's shot on to the crossbar helped clinch maximum points.
Joe Oastler (Torquay)
The Gulls full-back netted his first senior goal - and contributed to a clean sheet - as the Devon side earned a 2-0 win at York.
Danny Stevens (Torquay)
Stevens has endured an injury-hit campaign but showed signs of recapturing the form, which saw him net 10 times last season, in the 2-0 success at York. The winger netted the opener as the Gulls picked up only their second away win of the season.
Joel Grant (Wycombe)
The winger found his best form to torment the Burton defence in Wycombe's 3-0 home success. He converted a second-half penalty, in-between team-mate Matt McClure pouncing twice after Grant's initial shots were blocked, as Wycombe climbed out of the relegation zone.
Kevin Ellison (Morecambe)
Ellison, 33, inspired the Shrimpers' 3-1 home win against AFC Wimbledon with the second Football League hat-trick of his career. Boss Jim Bentley admitted the 33-year-old "single-handedly" earned his team three points.
Britt Assombalonga (Southend)
Assombalonga and strike partner Gavin Tomlin have bagged eight goals between them in the Shrimpers' last three games - and the pair were instrumental in the 3-1 home win against Rochdale. Assombalonga makes the team of the week after netting the equaliser and then teeing up the third for Marc Laird.
Matt McClure (Wycombe)
McClure bagged his second brace of the week to put Burton to the sword in a comfortable 3-0 home success. The Northern Ireland Under-21 international showed his predatory skills to clinically pounce twice inside the penalty area, either side of also earning the penalty which was converted by Joel Grant.
James Beattie (Accrington)
Former England international Beattie netted his second goal in as many games with Accrington's equaliser in the 1-1 draw against leaders Gillingham.
