AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley admits the club are making progress towards signing out-of-contract Gillingham centre-back Andy Frampton, but a deal has not been completed.

The Gillingham captain has come to the end of his contract at Priestfield and is free to leave on a Bosman ruling, with reports suggesting a deal with the Dons has been done. Ardley told the club's official website on Wednesday: "We have spoken at length with Andy Frampton and terms have been agreed with the player, but he is currently away on holiday. "As a club we like to do things properly and we do not announce that we have signed a player until he has signed on the dotted line and passed a medical. "Although we are hopeful of concluding a deal and Andy would be a major asset to us if he signs, we do not wish to comment further until he has signed." The 33-year-old centre-back has previously made over 100 appearances for Millwall and played 164 times for Brentford.
