Sam Collins will be out of action for Port Vale for up to two months.Sam Collins will be out of action for Port Vale for up to two months due to a knee injury.
The 27-year-old sustained a knock to his medial ligament during Vale's loss to Torquay.
Scans on the injury showed damage to his knee that will keep him out of action until the New Year.
"Sam's got some damage to his medial ligament and he'll be out until early in the New Year," said Vale boss Martin Foyle (pictured).
Foyle is currently short of first team players and is assessing his squad one day at a time.
"It's a very delicate situation with all the injuries at the moment. We're taking it day by day," he added.
