Port Vale have completed the signing of Welsh defender Rhys Weston.
Port Vale have completed the signing of Rhys Weston after receiving international clearance for the Wales international.
The defender impressed Vale boss Martin Foyle during a trial at the end of January and the club have been trying to push through a deal.
Weston was available on a free transfer after a brief spell with Norwegian club Viking Stavanger, following his release by Cardiff City last September.
With the wait to secure the necessary clearance now at a conclusion, the stopper has signed a contract until the end of the season with the League One side.
"The deal has taken a long time to come through. Rhys was a person I tried to sign a while back and it was just trying to get him to the club," Foyle told the club's official website.
"He's a good addition if we want to attract better players to the club. He can play right-back and he's more than comfortable at centre-half.
"He has played most of his career at right-back at Cardiff, but he can also drop into midfield.
"Rhys is a leader and a talker which is something that we haven't had and what we need."
