Stockport County captain Gareth Owen is poised to join League One rivals Yeovil Town, with a view to a permanent deal in January.
The defender, 26, had been set to sign for League outfit side Port Vale, but has opted to remain in England's third tier.
He will join up with the Glovers ahead of their encounter at Northampton Town on Saturday.
Owen, who transferred to Stockport from Oldham on a permanent basis in 2007, is expected to seal his switch to Huish Park on Friday.
