Stockport County defender Gareth Owen is considering a move to Port Vale after being offered a two-and-a-half year contract.
Owen has recently completed a month's loan at Yeovil Town, having moved to Huish Park with a view to a permanent deal.
However, he is now back at Stockport and remains on the wanted list of Vale, who tried to sign the stopper before his switch to Yeovil.
The 26-year-old confirmed he has held talks with the League Two club and is set to decide on the offer on Monday.
"I want to get things sorted out sooner rather than later," said Owen in the Sentinel. "The talks with Vale were positive and I'm going to get back to them on Monday."
Yeovil remain interested in Owen, while reports suggest Crewe Alexandra, Bury and Bradford City are also poised to make offers.
Vale chairman Bill Bratt confirmed the club are prepared to meet Owen's demands as they look to fend off interest from other clubs.
Bratt said: "Gareth wants a two-and-a-half year deal and we would be willing to give him that. We also discussed terms and he went away and said he would come back to us.
"It now depends on what other offers he gets."
