Parkinson confirms defender is one of his transfer targets
Charlton Athletic manager Phil Parkinson has held talks regarding a possible deal for Preston North End defender Liam Chilvers.
The 28-year-old is not being offered a new contract at Preston after making over 100 appearances during four seasons at Deepdale.
He is on the look-out for a new club and could be reunited with Parkinson after playing under the Charlton boss at Colchester United earlier in his career.
Parkinson is aiming to improve his squad for a promotion challenge in League One next season and he confirmed Chilvers is among his targets.
He told the South London Press: "Liam is one of a number of players we've been looking at and I've spoken to his agent a couple of times."
