Sheffield United have confirmed defender Neill Collins has put pen to paper on a new contract at Bramall Lane.

The 29-year-old, who joined from Leeds in 2011, has agreed terms on a two-year extension, with an option for a third. He told the club's official website: "I'm pleased everything is done and dusted, quickly and amicably. "There are many factors why I wanted to stay and not least because I love it here. We've got a good side, the club is great, the management team are fantastic to work with and I think I'm thriving." Boss Danny Wilson added: "It is fantastic that we can get the likes of Richard Cresswell, Michael Doyle and now Neill Collins signed up and committed to the club. The experience of these lads is paramount as we look to nurture a young side. "Neill was exemplary last season and he has begun this in the same form. People can learn a lot from him, his application, both in training on the pitch, is exceptional, as I've said on numerous occasions."
