Hinton handed new deal

Bristol Rovers defender Craig Hinton has signed a new two-year deal.

Bristol Rovers defender Craig Hinton has signed a new two-year deal.

The 28-year-old's previous contract expired this summer but there was never much danger of manager Paul Trollope allowing him to drift away.

The defender joined Rovers in 2004 from Kidderminster and proceeded to become a key player for The Pirates.

He made 34 appearances in League Two last season and Trollope will be delighted to have secured his services until at least 2008.

Hinton originally began life as a right back but has since established himself in the centre of defence.
