Den favourite signs contract until 2010

Chris Hackett has committed his long-term future to Millwall after signing a new deal that binds him to the League One club until 2010. Having spent most of last season on the treatment table after suffering knee ligament damage, Hackett was handed a six-month contract in the summer with which to prove himself at The Den. The 25-year-old spurned longer deals from elsewhere and now he has been rewarded for a bright start to the campaign with fresh terms. "I'm delighted to get it all sorted," Hackett told the club's official website. "Now I'm looking to help the team get promotion. "Millwall is a club going places - there's a good feeling about the place, and that's why I signed. I want to be part of a successful team. "I'd like to thank the manager, my team-mates and the supporters - everyone's been great to me, especially since my knee injury."
