Millers trio transfer-listed

Rotherham boss Steve Evans has transfer-listed defender Ryan Cresswell, midfielder Danny Schofield and goalkeeper Jamie Annerson.

Evans is in the process of building a squad capable of mounting a promotion challenge in the club's first season at their purpose-built New York Stadium and has told the trio they are free to move on. "Basically what I've said to the lads is that we don't see them getting the first-team football that perhaps they would expect," Evans said. "We have to be open and honest with them, they have the options now to move on permanently, we're not going to entertain anybody taking them on loan. "Every club in the Football League and Conference have been made aware that these lads are available on a free transfer, so we'll see what happens." Cresswell, 24, signed for an undisclosed fee from Bury in the summer of 2010 and made 17 appearances last season, while former Huddersfield winger Schofield, who joined on a free transfer from Millwall in July 2011, was a virtual ever-present with 41 appearances. Annerson, 23, signed a two-year contract with the Millers last summer and spent the latter part of last season on loan with Bradford.
