Clarke back in action

HUDDERSFIELD have expressed delight that Nathan Clarke came through his first 90 minutes of the season on Tuesday.

Town reserves travelled north to take on Newcastle`s second-string, and Clarke played 90 minutes of the 1-0 defeat.

The teenager, who has caught the eye of a number of Premiership teams, picked up a knee injury late last season and had an operation over the summer.

The Terriers were not expecting him back before Christmas, but his progress has amazed the club`s medical staff.

Speaking after seeing Clarke come through the game, reserve-team boss Jeff Lee said: "Nathan looked good.

"He came through with no problems and looks better every time we see him," Lee added on the club`s website.
