The midfielder is due to become a free agent at the end of the 2013/14 campaign, with no fresh terms on the table at the John Smith's Stadium.
With that in mind, the 28-year-old has been allowed to link up with League One outfit Coventry City.
Terriers boss Mark Robins hopes the move proves beneficial to all concerned, with Robinson in need of a shop window in which to showcase himself.
He said in the Huddersfield Examiner: "This move is a fantastic one for Anton at this stage of the season.
"He has worked very hard to recover from the serious knee injury he sustained at the end of last season and has returned to full fitness.
"But he has been unable to break into our side and we want to give him every chance to impress and secure a contract at another club for next season.
"This loan spell at Coventry gives him the opportunity.
"Coventry still have a lot to play for - they are currently four points above the relegation zone in League One after overcoming their points reduction - and Anton can go and show what he is capable of."
