Huddersfield new boy Mark Hudson said he opted to join the Terriers because the club made him feel wanted.
The experienced defender sealed his move to the John Smith's Stadium from Cardiff on a two-year deal late on Monday evening.
The 32-year-old, who spent five seasons with the Bluebirds, courted interest from a number of other clubs but decided to move to the place he felt most welcome.
He told Huddersfield's official website: "I heard about the interest from a few clubs on Friday, so then it was all about picking which club is best for my career.
"The club I chose was where I felt really wanted; that's the feeling I got here. I was made to feel a big part of the club's future, which was a big thing for me.
"I met the chairman, Dean Hoyle, having spoken to him a couple of times on the phone, and he laid everything out; how the club operates and the way Huddersfield Town wants to move forward. He made me feel like the club really wanted me here.
"It's a great opportunity for me to come and play football, which I've missed a little bit of. I did start the season back at Cardiff and I'm looking to carry that on here."
