Brighton have confirmed caretaker boss Dean Wilkins is being considered for the job.
Caretaker manager Dean Wilkins and assistant Dean White have strong claims to the Brighton & Hove Albion top jobs, according to chairman Dick Knight.
The duo took temporary charge at the Withdean following Mark McGhee's (pictured) departure from the club 10 days ago.
Since that time The Seagulls have turned around their disappointing form with seven points from a possible nine.
Knight has confirmed that the pair are firmly in the running for permanent positions, and a lot could depend on the Carling Cup match away against Southend United on Tuesday.
"They are setting out to prove to me that I don't need to look elsewhere," Knight confessed.
Goalkeeper Michael Kuipers and defender Kerry Mayo have, meanwhile, joined with Brighton fans in their fight for a new ground.
Around 2000 supporters were in attendance at the rally on Sunday, as they look to end their temporary residence at the Withdean.
