Kemy Agustien has signed a new contract with Swansea City, after recovering from the injuries that blighted his season. The Swansea midfielder's current deal was to run out next month, but he has now pledged his future to the club and will remain at the Liberty Stadium until 2014. The Dutchman, who joined the club from AZ in 2010, was restricted to just seven Premier League starts in 2011/12 by an ankle injury. But having had surgery on the problem, the 25-year-old is now hoping to establish himself during the Swans' second season in the top flight. He said: "I've already started working towards next season. I want to return fit and fresh.

Delighted

"I'm delighted to sign the new deal because it's a great time to be part of Swansea City and I want to help the club go higher and higher. "The team has done extremely well this season, but we will only get better and I want to be part of that. "Playing for the club on the Premier League stage is where I want to be because I've worked hard to make that dream become a reality."
Work
And Agustien is pledging to work through the summer to make sure he is ready for pre-season. He continued: "I've still got a bit of rehab to do on my ankle before I start running properly, but I'm working hard in the gym at the moment. "While it's been a frustrating season at times with the injuries, I'd like to think that I have shown people what I'm capable of during the games I have played."
