Lions striker hoping to make an impact this season

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett has urged Shaun Batt to show caution as he works his way back to full fitness. The 24-year-old attacker was forced to miss all of last season through injury and Jackett does not want to take any chances with him. "He'll train with us next week, which is good, and he'll need a few weeks' training to make sure the rest of his body adjusts and he doesn't pull anything else because he's been out a long time," Jackett told The News Shopper. "He's done a lot of work and he's done a lot of physical fitness work, so I think his body has a good base, but he has to get used to playing football again.

"I'm confident he'll contribute this year. Over the next few weeks we'll have to make sure he gets enough work in and we can see exactly where he is." Meanwhile, Liam Trotter should return back to training at some point this week. "Liam felt a quad injury last week," added Jackett. "We're hopeful that by midweek, he'll be fit and training."
