Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade lauded his players as they maintained their winning start with a 3-0 win over Shrewsbury.
Three games and three wins had Slade purring with satisfaction. He said: "That was a superb performance. "That third game within a weekis always a tough one and I really felt that the first goal was going to be crucial. We managed to get that and that put us on our way really. "The message I gave to our players was persistence and determination. There are a lot of very talented people around the world, not just in football, that are unsuccessful and the key is to be persistent and determined and committed and that's exactly what we were." It took Orient 56 minutes to break down a resilient opposition, but once David Mooney had got the breakthrough with a header, the home side dominated. Irishman Mooney added his second of the game with another header after 63 minutes before talented winger Moses Odubajo added a third in added time. Slade added: "Mooney always works hard for the team and at the minute, he's in the right spot at the right time and he's playing with a lot of confidence. "But all the forwards have looked a threat in each of our three games and got themselves going." Commenting on the third goal, Slade added: "It was a great goal, he nearly scored before that when he hit the woodwork so he really deserved that and it capped off a really strong second-half performance. "We've got a home win, kept a clean sheet and that gives me a buzz."
