Eddie Howe was delighted as Bournemouth came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

Eddie Howe was delighted with the impact made by his substitutes Josh King and Lys Mousset after they both scored in Bournemouth's 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

Howe rang the changes just past the hour mark at 1-0 down, with King and Mousset brought on in a double substitution for Callum Wilson and Marc Pugh.

Mousset made an instant impact by scoring just three minutes later, while King equalised in the 89th minute after Wilfried Zaha had put Crystal Palace back in front.

"I'm really pleased with the two players who came on. Josh King has had a slight hamstring niggle and I didn't really want to bring him on but with the scoreline it was the right thing to do and he did really well," said Howe.

"Lys [Mousset] is developing all the time and it was a great finish. When he first signed we saw his talent but he needed to get fitter and adapt. But now he's coming off the bench and making a contribution regularly and his future is a really bright one."

King's strike meant that for the seventh consecutive Bournemouth game a goal was scored in the 89th minute or later and just like Jermain Defoe's injury-time equaliser against Watford last weekend, it salvaged a point for the Cherries.

Howe was delighted with the character shown by his players and praised the match-changing quality of his substitutes but admitted he doesn't want his team to rely on late goals in every game.

"We can lull ourselves into a false sense of security to think we can go 1-0 down and then start playing. Football is incredibly tough and that's not our preferred method.

"But it is a great thing to have when you are chasing the game that you have the ability and the players can score late goals. We'll certainly take it while acknowledging we need to improve in other areas."
