The 22-year-old needs an operation on a torn ligament and will not play again this season.
Broadhurst sustained the injury last month against Swansea, but extensive physiotherapy has failed to rehabilitate him.
"As a professional footballer, Karl needs the operation to stabilise his shoulder and he will have it done as soon as we can get him on an operating list," said Cherries physio Jim Marshall.
"Unfortunately, he won't be able to play again this season, but he will be fully fit for the start of pre-season training.
"It would have been no good trying to make him play through it and then for it to go again because he could have been out for much longer and done more damage."
