Stewart out for season

Gareth Stewart has been ruled out of the remainder of Bournemouth's season after rupturing cruciate ligaments in his knee.

The Cherries keeper suffered the damage during a reserve team match against Cardiff City, and it continues his wretched luck with injuries.

"I was upset when I was given the news, but I soon pulled myself together," he told The Daily Echo.

"I can't change anything now and I've just got to get on with it.

"The only problem I've got with injuries is the time you are out.

"I'm going to be in the gym for five or six months, and that's something I don't like.

"But with all the weights I'm going to be doing, I could come back stronger."

Manager Sean O'Driscoll (pictured) is likely to introduce goalkeeping cover in time for the busy festive period as youth teamer Kevin Scriven has potential but little experience.
