Bournemouth's Steve Fletcher is out for up to six weeks after surgery on his knee.Bournemouth captain Steve Fletcher will be out for up to six weeks after undergoing an operation to solve a long-running knee injury.
The 32-year-old was unable to play in last Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Bristol City and has been hampered with the problem in his left knee during pre-season.
The loss of the former Hartlepool United hit-man will come as a blow to Cherries manager Sean O'Driscoll after just three matches of the new League One season.
"Steve has been struggling since half way through pre-season with the injury and an exploratory knee operation was carried out to tidy up the left knee," Bournemouth physio Jim Marshall told the club's official website.
