Neil Young has signed a new one-year deal with Bournemouth.Young had come to the end of his current deal at Dean Court but has impressed manager Sean O'Driscoll enough during the season to earn a fresh 12-month contract.
The 32-year-old was expected to have signed his last deal with the club last season but he has enjoyed a superb campaign and has now agreed to extend his stay into a 12th year.
Young enjoyed a testimonial against Charlton last summer but showed he could still be a key member of the side when nailing down a starting place in the heart of the defence.
O'Driscoll also handed Young the captain's armband for most of the season and he is still very much in his plans for next term.
The experienced stopper will also be able to help the younger players that O'Driscoll has recently brought to the club.
Former Walsall winger Daryl Taylor has joined The Cherries along with youngsters Conal Platt and Tareq Khalil from Liverpool and Cardiff as O'Driscoll looks to shape his squad for next season.
One player that is not returning to Dean Court is Australian centre back Adam Griffiths.
The former Watford defender signed with The Cherries until the end of the season back in January, but O'Driscoll has opted not to offer him a new deal for next season.
