Stewart kept three clean sheets in his first four games after stepping into the breach and kept 13 clean sheets in total, in 42 League One starts last term.
The current Bournemouth Players' Player of the Year has made 84 league appearances for the South Coast outfit, since joining in the summer of 1999.
