Cherries secure Cooper deal

Bournemouth starlet Shaun Cooper has agreed a contract extension.

Bournemouth starlet Shaun Cooper has agreed a contract extension that binds him to the League One outfit until 2008.

The 22-year-old has impressed Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll since returning to Dean Court last August.

Cooper actually began his career at Bournemouth before joining Portsmouth, with whom he was released after failing to make the grade at the top flight outfit.

Since returning to Bournemouth he has been used in a variety of positions, both in midfield and in defence, and has clearly done enough to earn fresh terms.

Cooper made 38 appearances last season for Bournemouth, establishing himself as a key player.
