Aberdeen have warned Bournemouth that they do not want to sell Steve Lovell.
Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has warned Bournemouth they will have to pay top price if they are to lure Steve Lovell away from Pittodrie.
The striker is rumoured to be unhappy at failing to secure regular first team football with the Scottish Premier League side after his £250,000 move from Dundee in July 2005.
However Calderwood is unlikely to allow Lovell, who began his career with Bournemouth, to leave for anything less than the Dons paid for him.
Calderwood told the Daily Record: "I'm aware of speculation linking Lovell to Bournemouth although nothing has come of it so far.
"If there is an approach, they will be told Lovell has two years left on his contract and we'd prefer him to stay.
"You never say never in football these days but I'd doubt whether Bournemouth could come up with a deal which would persuade us to part with the player."
