Cheltenham have denied reports that have suggested John Finnigan is on his way.Cheltenham have moved to deny reports that have suggested John Finnigan is on his way to League One rivals Bournemouth.
Club captain Finnigan has a year left on his existing deal and in recent weeks has been mooted as a possible target for Cherries boss Kevin Bond.
It is thought Bournemouth would be willing to offer in the region of £250,000 to secure his services, but Cheltenham chairman Paul Baker insists he has no plans to sanction Finnigan's departure.
Baker said: "I can assure you there is no substance to these rumours at all. There has been no contact from anyone at Bournemouth.
"It goes without saying that John is one of our prize assets. He is currently out of the country on holiday but I know he is extremely happy at Cheltenham and we are more than happy with him."
