Midfielder set to miss rest of season

Bournemouth ace Marvin Bartley could be set to miss the rest of the season through injury. The midfielder is struggling with a groin problem and he is set to see a specialist. Manager Eddie Howe confirmed he would be out for at least two weeks. "We've got our fingers crossed for Marvin but it doesn't look too promising at the moment," Howe told the Daily Echo. "He's really struggling and can't even jog. We'll have to wait and see what the consultant says but he definitely won't feature for a couple of weeks. "It's a blow because our squad isn't the biggest anyway and we need as many fit bodies as possible at this time of the season. "Marvin has been performing consistently well for us and, hopefully, we haven't seen the last of him this season."

Trialists

Meanwhile, Howe is also casting his eyes over four trialists. Southampton goalkeeper Liam Hogan, Sheffield United defender Ben Starosta, striker Lewis Smith from Fulham and Bristol City left-sider George Boon are all trying to impress Howe.
