Taylor keen to match Thomas

Striker Lyle Taylor is feeling positive and believes he can fill the boots of Wes Thomas for Bournemouth until January.

The young forward has been largely anonymous this season having not featured for the south coast outfit since October 4. However, with Thomas ineligible to play for Bournemouth until his loan deal from Crawley becomes permanent in the new year, Taylor wants to force his way back into his boss' selection plans. He told the club's official website: "I am positive and I still believe in myself. If you don't play well in a game you can lose belief, but I feel positive going into an important time. "We have great competition now to play up front, with Wes being out through no fault of his own. All the strikers can do now is to impress and put themselves in the manager's mind and see what happens. "We have to step in and fill Wes' boot and then hopefully keep him out. It's an up-and-down world in football. You get the shirt, you have to keep the shirt."
