Mitchell wants unattached boss

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell is unlikely to pursue a manager already employed as he looks for a successor to Paul Groves.

Bournemouth have been linked with a move for MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, and an attempt to lure for manager Eddie Howe, currently in charge at Championship club Burnley, back to the south coast. However, Mitchell insists he will probably target candidates who are currently out of work. "There are lots of people out there who are looking at the job and have shown a desire to come and work at Bournemouth, but it has to suit our budget and it has to suit our expectations of where we want to go," Mitchell told the club's official website. "The likelihood is that we will pursue the best possibility of somebody that is between jobs rather than employed." Mitchell added: "We have got to do our best to find the right person whilst we have got this break in jobs, and you would like to think we will have an answer this week or certainly early next week. We don't want to go any further into the season without having a settled manager."
