Bristol Rovers have reacted to relegation to the Skrill Premier by releasing 12 players.

Strikers David Clarkson and Steven Gillespie are two of the regulars departing along with Danny Woodards and Fabian Broghammer, who endured injury-hit campaigns. Seanan Clucas, Conor Gough, Mitch Harding, Pat Keary, Jim Paterson and Josh Southway also depart while Eliot Richards, who finished the season on loan at Exeter, will also head to pastures new. Defender Michael Smith, named in the PFA's League Two Team of the Season, has been offered a contract extension, while Lee Brown and Alefe Santos have also been offered new deals. Welsh winger Ellis Harrison has been placed on the transfer list by the club while Alan Gow, who finished the season with Rovers on loan from Exeter, has been offered the chance to earn a new contract by proving his fitness during the summer after a knee injury ended his campaign.
