The big target man fell awkwardly when challenging the opposition goalkeeper and was subsequently substituted and taken to hospital for x-rays.
"Damien challenged the goalkeeper and won the header to score but fell awkwardly," manager Bobby Gould told the club's website.
"He has cracked two ribs but the injury is not serious and he will need two to four weeks recuperation.
"He is not in too much discomfort and will be able to do some training with physio Ian Weston."
Gould used the game to try out five trialist, two of them, Frenchman Bertrand Cozic and Ben Cleverley, caught the eye of The Robins Boss.
Cozic was part of the successful Team Bath side that caused such furore by making the first round of the FA Cup, in which they were beaten by Mansfield Town but Gould singled out Cleverley for special praise.
"Ben Cleverley has been voted 'man of the match' by all the lads," Gould added.
"He scored the second goal from a super move and it was good to see Martin Devaney get the third goal as well."
The Whaddon Road outfit were without John Finnigan (shin) and Richard Forsyth (calf) through injury while Mark Yates and Kayode Odejayi were rested for the game in Wales because of minor knocks.
