The Imps had won five of their last six games at Sincil Bank but could not break down John Ward's (pictured) spirited side.
The result lifts Lincoln into sixth place above Huddersfield on goal difference.
Macclesfield grabbed a much-needed 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers to push them further away from the bottom two in the table.
Colin Little opened the scoring when his free-kick from the right eluded everybody and drifted into the net.
Rovers hit back to level matters just after the hour mark when substitute Lewis Haldane tapped in after on-loan Lee Matthews had seen his shot hit the post.
However, Macclesfield managed to clinch the victory when forward John Miles netted on 73 minutes.
