Grimsby Town were denied victory by a late Cheltenham equaliser.Grimsby Town were denied an important League Two victory as Cheltenham Town snatched a late equaliser at Blundell Park.
The Mariners were heading for a single goal win until Damian Spencer cancelled out Andy Parkinson's goal with four minutes remaining.
The hosts wasted a great chance to take the lead after just four minutes when Shane Duff brought down Jason Crowe in the box but Thomas Pinault put his penalty wide of the target.
Russell Slade's side dominated the first half and got their reward on 16 minutes when John McDermott and Michael Reddy combined for Andy Parkinson to volley home.
After the break, the best chances continued to fall the home side's way as Cheltenham keeper Shane Higgs parried Terry Fleming's shot from a McDermott cross.
But with Grimsby clinging on under late pressure from the visitors, Cheltenham nicked a goal in the 86th minute.
Ashley Vincent's shot was only parried by Anthony Williams and Spencer reacted quickest to earn The Robins a point.
