Cheltenham duo sign on

Jamie Victory and Jerry Gill have signed new deals at Cheltenham.

Jamie Victory and Jerry Gill have signed new deals at Cheltenham.

The defensive duo have been rewarded after The Robins gained promotion to League One via the play-offs.

Gill has signed a new one-year extension to his current contract.

Meanwhile 30-year-old Victory, who has been struggling with injury since the second half of last season, has been given a six-month deal in order to prove his fitness.

Victory, who is now in his testimonial season, will be hoping to prove his worth as The Robins look to survive in League One next term.

"There is no surgical procedure for the groin injury, an injection was all that could be done, but I am happy with it," Victory told the clubs official website.

"The injection made a big difference and I am now very confident that I will get back to full fitness.

"I now need to get a good pre-season under my belt and hopefully I can earn a further extended contract by playing regularly next year."

Gill, 35, is thrilled to have the chance to test himself at a higher level, and is enjoying life at Whaddon Road.

"It's been one of my best seasons and I have really enjoyed my football here. I fell as well as I have ever done and hopefully I can stay at the club for a bit longer yet."
