Elliott backs Robins to soar

Seasoned pro Steve Elliott hopes Cheltenham's younger players have the match of their lives against Tottenham in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Cheltenham play Spurs at White Hart Lane in a third round tie this weekend. Elliott, who spent the early part of his career at the highest level with Derby, has experienced the atmosphere of some of the biggest grounds in the country - including Spurs' north London home - and knows what to expect on matchday. But for some of the up-and-coming youth amongst Cheltenham's ranks, the cup tie will be a world away from the regular hustle and bustle of League Two. However, Elliott is confident the occasion will bring the best out of them. He said: "It's fantastic experience for the younger lads to go to a big club and play in front of a big crowd and see what it takes to reach the top level. "And maybe it will inspire some of them to go on and reach that level themselves."
